Dragged by the First Nation
For Day 2 of this year’s IndigArts Takeover Weekend we present DRAGGED BY THE FIRST NATION, a drag showcase hosted by Rosé Parks, featuring Weird Alice, Lou Lou La Duchesse, Midnight Wolverine, Rez Daddy, Mx Beau Ryder, Tygr Willy, and Rhinestone Chickadee!
Lou Lou la Duchesse de Rière, aka Lauren Ashley Jiles, is a half black half Mohawk internationally renowned neo-burlesque dancer, teacher, and activist hailing from Kahnawake Quebec.
She began her burlesque career in 2005 in Montreal with troupe Blue Light Burlesque. She had since headlined shows across North America and has performed in New Orleans, Las Vegas, New York, Texas, Detroit, and Chicago.
She has been voted into the Burlesque Top 50 four times by 21st Century Burlesque since 2017. She has been voted the #1 most influential burlesque figure in Canada for the past two years and is currently ranked #12 worldwide.
In September 2018 she made history by becoming the first Indigenous woman to be crowned New Orleans Queen of Burlesque. She also holds titles at Burlesque Hall of Fame, including Most Innovative.
Also known as Midnight Wolverine, Mx.Wolverine [they/them] is Tkaronto’s midnight tease, trickster and shapeshifter. Originally from Treaty 8 territory in the Northwest Territories, they are a Dene/Métis indigiqueer drag and burlesque performer, writer, artist, creator, and storyteller working to decolonize performance spaces, challenge common Indigenous and gender narratives, and create much needed two-spirit representation. They have politicized and sexified stages nationally including the Fierce Queer International Burlesque Festival, Bagel Burlesque Expo Montreal, Asinabka Festival, Pride Toronto and Pride Yukon. They have also been featured on CBC Gem’s Canadian Screen Award winning Canada’s A Drag Season 3 which has recently been nominated for a Digital Publishing Award. Crispier than fresh frybread, they’re the native hottie with a little edge and a lot of sexy!
Beau Ryder is a queer Dene, tender and rough, working to fuck some shit up and ground some feelings.
Rez Daddy is looking for honeys to spoil. He’s got baby mama drama, blankets on his windows, and a beat up car. He’s the sensation from the Okanagan nation. Looking to snag? He’s your guy. Rez Daddy is here to tease and please.
Just a young MILF, she’s coming for you wigs, your daddies and your problematic white behaviour.
Daughter of Halal Bae and Tygr Willy, Rhinestone Chickadee enjoys long walks on the beach, showing hole and getting that land back.
Previously they performed for: Category Is… on Glad Day TV, BoylesqueTO’s Stay Homo & Naked Boys Eating shows on Glad Day TV, Are You Smarter Than… on SpeakEasy Channel, ACAS’s SLAM Forum, Drag Diasporas: Indigenous Artistry, Settler Colonialism, and Queer and Trans Performance on Stolen Land, and recently PUSH.PULL:Topped with Buddies In Bad Times. They are also a facilitator and producer, having produced a 3 episode series called: Nostalgia – A weekend morning cartoon-themed show.
Tygr Willy is the current co-producer of Thirst Nation Show – an Indigi-Queer & 2 Spirit Variety show, and is preparing to perform for the Yohomo Pride Party, launch the Bloom Stage at PrideTO for their festival weekend, and the 2S Pride at Night event with 2-Spirit of the First Nations.

Weird Alice is a 2S queer performance artist who has been described as glamorous with a dash of disgusting. Host and creator of QTBIPOC pageant ‘Drop Deadly Gorgeous’, Drag Me to the Movies (a movie + bingo series), Weird Alice has been touring the world with their art for the past decade exploring themes of identity, queerness, packaged in a bizarre pop culture pastiche.
