Creators’ Unit

Applications for the 16/17 Creator’s Unit are now closed.

The Creator’s Unit is Paprika’s core ensemble. This is the place where you meet a group of like-minded artists and create something amazing together. You will meet weekly to learn through process in the creation of an original performance under the guidance of a professional artist-facilitator.

This program is composed of poets, musicians, dancers, actors, directors, playwrights, designers and anyone who is interested in being part of a tight-knit collective. This program is for people who want to work collaboratively, who are excited about performance and want a place to explore that excitement, and for people who want to push the limits of their artistry.

The piece itself can take any form the group envisions, the professional facilitator will guide the group in the creation of the entire project, from inception to production.

This is a weekly facilitated workshop which cumulates in the creation of an original performance. This program is supported through Theatre Passe Muraille’s Industry Partnership with Paprika.

Program Requirements:
-Meet weekly From November 2016-May 2017 with a facilitator

-Attend a meet and greet on December 11, 2016 and Paprika Festival Training Days on January 15 2017, February 12 2017, March 12 2017, April 23 2017

-Perform in the festival May 22-28, 2017

-Suggested age limit 21
