The TD Creator’s Unit is a great fit for individual artists interested in collective creation and performance. This program is composed of poets, musicians, dancers, actors, directors, playwrights, designers and anyone who is interested in being part of a tight-knit creative team. The piece made by the TD Creator’s Unit can take any form the group envisions; this is a place to take artistic risks, experiment with ideas, and try things you’ve been imagining. The professional facilitator will guide the group in the creation of the entire project, from first ideas to opening night.  Your work is shared in the Paprika Festival May 14-20, 2018 at Aki Studio (Daniels Spectrum). This program has a suggested age limit of 21. This program is supported through Theatre Passe Muraille’s Industry Partnership with Paprika.

Recent program facilitators include:

Jasmine Chen, Miquelon Rodriguez, Zoe Sweet, Kanika Ambrose, and Sabryn Rock

Training Days:

In addition to being part of one of this program, all participants gather for four Training Day masterclasses led by professional artists, with workshop topics ranging from physical theatre, to pitching your show, to decolonizing arts practice. These days are a chance for participants to meet and work with one another (and find future collaborators!).

Commitment:

- Meet weekly from November 2017-May 2018 with the unit and facilitator

- Attend a meet and greet on December 10, 2017 and Paprika Festival Training Days on: January 28, 2018, February 25, 2018, March 25, 2018, April 29 2018 (dates subject to change up until participants are confirmed).

- Your stage manager and designers attend a Technical Theatre Workshop: April 28, 2018

- Perform in the festival May 14-20, 2018
